Work with classmates and professional engineers from leading companies like General Motors and Lockheed Martin to solve real-world engineering challenges in the O.T. Swanson Multidisciplinary Laboratory» Participating in the MDL gives you a variety of opportunities, including:

 

Send frisbees sailing specific distances, toward specific targets

Apply your knowledge of fundamental engineering principles in Introduction to Engineering Design.

 

Learn embedded controls by racing "smart cars" or possibly through flying a blimp! Build a racecar by joining the SAE Formula Car team

Rensselaer's Formula SAE team
Rensselaer's Formula SAE team drove its student-designed and built racecar to a second-place finish at Formula Student, a worldwide collegiate design and engineering competition held annually in the United Kingdom.
