Women in Engineering

Women in Engineering Programs at Rensselaer promote the advancement of women in engineering, science, and technology by educating and developing future leaders of a technologically diverse workforce.

Goals:

  • To recruit talented women students with a passion for math and science who want to make significant contributions that positively impact our world
  • To provide the support and development al activities enabling all of our students to meet their professional and individual goals
  • To educate students, parents, teachers and counselors in our community about emerging careers in engineering, science and technology and the impact these careers have on the evolution and health of our nation and our world

WIE programs provide:

  • research opportunities in emerging fields of engineering science and technology
  • college scholarships and fellowships
  • corporate internships
  • mentoring partnerships with peers, faculty, and professional engineers and scientists
  • conferences, speakers series, and social events that build social and professional networks
  • leadership opportunities thorough student programs and community service
  • pre-college activities including "Design Your Future Day" that introduce girls and young women to exciting career possibilities in engineering, science, and technology
