MANE Spring Fling 2008

There was a whole lot of “monkey business” going on at this year's Spring Fling; an annual event sponsored by the MANE department. MANE faculty, students, and staff alike were treated to some good food, good music, and good fun outdoors in the courtyard entrances of the Jonsson Engineering Center (JEC) and the Darrin Communication Center (DCC).

500 plush “flying monkey” dolls were distributed as a souvenir of the event. Each monkey came dressed in a black cape and mask that could be flung through the air in a slingshot fashion. A “Pimp My Monkey” crafts station was setup so that those in attendance could decorate their flying monkeys. Targets were also setup in one of the trees so that people could take turns flinging their monkeys through the air.

The Stud Monkeys, a band comprised of RPI Faculty & Staff (including MANE Professor Dan Walczyk on drums) provided live music throughout the event.

Delicious sandwiches, soft drinks, snacks, and desserts were also on hand.

All in all it was a formula for a great time!
