Erhard Krempl, Professor Emeritus

General Areas of Research:

· Polymers
· Modeling
· Metallurgy

Research Activities:

Dr. Krempl's research interests include:
  • Mechanics of materials, constitutive modeling of metals, alloys, solid polymers and their composites using an experiment based approach for small and large deformations.
  • Viscoplasticity, creep, relaxation, and rate sensitivity in monotonic and cyclic loading.
  • Modeling of normal and pathological inelastic behavior of metals and alloys.
  • Models consist of coupled, nonlinear, stiff differential equations, which are being implemented into the material routines of commercial finite element programs.
