Research Activities:

Koratkar's research is focussed on the development of advanced nanostructured materials and devices. These include nano-composites with enhanced energy dissipation, fracture and fatigue properties as well as in-built self-diagnostics, health monitoring and healing functionalities. Other work includes development of nanotube membranes for micro-filtration as well as development of nanostructured superhydrophobic surfaces for low friction/drag coating and self-cleaning functionality. Koratkar's lab is also patterning nanostructured catalyst electrode architectures for energy storage and energy conversion applications.
