Why send students abroad?
Those who have made the trip can tell you. They have worked on water filtration projects in Mexico, created new types of coffee makers in Denmark, crawled through Viet Cong tunnels in Southeast Asia, wondered at the number of hamburgers consumed in the United States, and studied Spanish in Singapore. They have made friends and connections they could only have imagined before.
Most important, they have emerged from their experiences more prepared for engineering's—and the world's—future.
